David Worthington

David Worthington is Aconite’s Head of Consulting Practice, leading a team of consultants responsible for advising clients on EMV migration and exploitation of new payment and smart token technologies, as well as associated programme planning and implementation. In addition, David has regional management responsibility for MENAI (Middle East, North Africa & Indian subcontinent). Prior to joining Aconite, David worked in Senior Management roles for HSBC, NatWest, Mondex International, Keycorp EMEA, and as the Advisor for Banking Technology to the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, covering strategic consulting, IT project management, business development, and service delivery roles.

David’s 16 years experience in smart card technology and EMV migration has included development of business and technology solutions for banks, regulators and suppliers, as well as working with National Debit Card Schemes and the International Card Schemes. This built on several previous years experience managing banking and IT projects. Additionally in his various roles, he has defined and implemented business and technical strategy and programmemanaged national initiatives, including EMV, Electronic Billing and Payment, and finance sector PKI services.

David brings specialist knowledge of the MENAI market to Aconite. Both from former roles managing and living in the region, and from the last 4 years at Aconite successfully delivering in to the region over 50 consulting assignments and multiple solution implementation projects.
